GCSE Examination Results 2011 – the most successful year in Ercall Wood’s History!
The schools GCSE results in 2011 are the best the school has ever had and place us within the top few schools in the area.

The school is proud of its track record of improvement in success gained by its students. This is not just measured in terms of examination results. Engagement in vocational pathways, extra-curricular activities and involvement in pastoral care are real indications of the breadth of study and commitment experienced by students. Many people now appreciate that our school is increasingly successful for a very large number of students of differing abilities and aptitudes, including Gifted and Talented Students who achieved this year an amazing a total of 180 A*-A grades between them! This is the result of good teaching, hard work by students, and lots of support from families and, our determination to pursue excellence.
In addition we have a number of students that have achieved the highest GCSE grades in Year 10 who are now following a level 3 course (A Level) in their Year 11 studies.
Languages provision at Ercall Wood reached new heights last year when we offered courses in Chinese, Russian, Urdu and of course our core language of German. This represents Ercall Wood’s commitment and understanding that pupils are part of a Global Community.
